Hydro Jetting in Huntington Beach & Orange County

Snaking pokes a hole through a clog. Hydro jetting uses high-pressure water to scour the whole pipe wall clean, clearing the grease, hair, scale and roots that keep bringing clogs back. Lay It Rite jets and descales lines, and shows you the camera video before and after.

Hydro Jetting vs. Snaking vs. Descaling

Most plumbers own a snake. Fewer own a hydro jetter and descaling equipment. Having all three lets us use what your pipe actually needs instead of whatever is on the truck.

Cast iron pipe descaling

Descaling for Older Orange County Homes & Buildings

Many homes and commercial buildings in Huntington Beach and across Orange County still have their original cast iron drain lines. Over decades, rust and scale build up inside and narrow the pipe, catching paper, grease and hair. Descaling removes that buildup so the line drains the way it should. We have both cable descaling machines and jetter descaling attachments, so we can match the method to your pipe.

  • Signs you may need it: recurring slow drains, gurgling, or clogs that come back weeks after snaking
  • We camera the line first, so you see the scale and the condition of the pipe for yourself
  • After descaling, we flush the line and camera it again, and email you the before-and-after video

Descaling isn’t a fix for a pipe that’s cracked, collapsed or worn through. If the camera shows that, we’ll tell you straight and explain your repair options.

Commercial hydro jetting

Hydro Jetting for Restaurants, Salons & Businesses

Most of our hydro jetting is for local businesses, where a backed-up drain means lost customers. Lay It Rite works around your hours, shows you exactly what was in the line, and can keep you on a schedule so it doesn’t happen again.

Restaurants & commercial kitchens

Grease hardens inside kitchen lines and floor drains until one backs up in the middle of service.

  • Kitchen grease lines and floor drains
  • Grease interceptor jetting and grease trap pumping
  • Scheduled jetting so backups don’t catch you mid-service

Hair salons & barbershops

Hair, conditioner and styling products bind into a waxy mat that snaking pushes around but doesn’t remove.

  • Shampoo bowl and sink lines
  • Restroom and back-room drains
  • Jetting that clears the buildup, not just a hole through it

Medical & dental offices

A backed-up sink or restroom can’t wait when patients are in the chairs.

  • Exam room, lab and restroom drains
  • Work before or after patient hours
  • Clean, careful work in clinical spaces

Offices, retail & property managers

Shared lines in older buildings collect years of buildup and affect every tenant.

How we jet a line

Camera. Jet. Camera Again.

You shouldn’t have to take a plumber’s word for it. Every hydro jetting job starts and ends with a camera, so you can see the before and after for yourself.

Camera first

We run a camera through the line to find the problem and check the pipe is in good enough shape to jet.

Pick the right tool

Jetting, descaling, or both. If a simple snaking will do, we’ll tell you.

Jet and flush

High-pressure water scours the pipe wall and flushes grease, hair, scale and roots out of the line.

Camera again

We show you the clean line and email you the before-and-after video, with a recommended schedule if you need one.

FAQ

Hydro Jetting Questions, Answered

What is hydro jetting?

Hydro jetting is a drain cleaning method that sends high-pressure water through a specialized hose and nozzle to scour the inside of a pipe. It breaks up grease, soap, hair, sludge, scale and roots and flushes them out of the line, leaving the pipe wall clean instead of just opening a hole through the clog.

What is the difference between hydro jetting and snaking?

A drain snake bores a path through a clog with a rotating cable, which gets water flowing but leaves buildup on the pipe walls, so clogs often return. Hydro jetting cleans the full width of the pipe. Snaking is fine for a simple sink or tub clog; jetting is better for recurring clogs, main lines, grease lines and roots.

How much does hydro jetting cost in Orange County?

At Lay It Rite Plumbing, residential main line hydro jetting starts at $595, with a camera inspection before and after included. Restaurant and commercial line jetting and cast iron descaling are quoted by phone, because price depends on access, line length and how much buildup there is. There’s no service call fee Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Is hydro jetting safe for older pipes?

For most pipes in good condition, yes. That’s why we run a camera through the line first. If the camera shows a pipe that is cracked, collapsed or badly deteriorated, we won’t jet it blindly. We’ll show you the footage and explain your options.

What is pipe descaling?

Descaling removes the rust and scale that build up inside cast iron drain pipes over decades. That buildup narrows the pipe and catches debris, causing slow drains and repeat clogs. Depending on the pipe, we use a cable descaling machine or a descaling attachment on the hydro jetter. We camera the line before and after descaling so you can see the result.

How often should a restaurant have its grease lines jetted?

It depends on how much cooking you do and how grease is handled in your kitchen. We offer 6- and 12-month jetting schedules at a lower price per visit, and after seeing your line on camera we’ll recommend how often you actually need it.

Do you pump grease traps and jet grease interceptors?

Yes. Lay It Rite jets grease interceptors and pumps grease traps for restaurants and commercial kitchens across Orange County. We can put your interceptor or trap on a regular schedule along with your kitchen line jetting, so grease doesn’t back up during service.

Do you hydro jet drains for hair salons and barbershops?

Yes. Hair combined with conditioners and styling products forms a waxy buildup that snaking tends to push around rather than remove. Hydro jetting clears it from the pipe walls, and a regular schedule helps prevent backups during business hours.

Can you jet our lines before we open or after we close?

Yes. We schedule commercial hydro jetting around your business hours, including early mornings and evenings, and we answer 24/7 if a line backs up during service.

Does hydro jetting remove tree roots?

Hydro jetting cuts and flushes out roots that have grown into a sewer line. Roots can grow back through the same cracks or joints, so we show you on camera where they’re getting in and explain whether a repair would solve it for good.

Which cities do you serve for hydro jetting?

We serve 27 Orange County cities, including Huntington Beach, Seal Beach, Westminster, Fountain Valley, Costa Mesa, Newport Beach, Garden Grove, Santa Ana, Irvine, Tustin, Orange, Anaheim, Laguna Beach, Mission Viejo, San Juan Capistrano and Dana Point.
